For example, this particular cop was talking some non-existent nonsense during the stop, and I did not pay attention at the time. Then, later, I realized that he was building his case, and used his camera to record it. He was pumping up the story to be on the safe side. Now, with hindsight, I doubt even his stated speed. May have pumped that one up a few mph, just to be on safe side. Why?Well, he said that I was tailgating, too, which was nonsense, because I never do that, and am quite insistent on it.I checked my dashboard camera, and it showed no tailgating whatsoever.10-15 lengths behind a vehicle when in same lane.

NOTE: naive out of state platers (except maybe OK) be aware of this at very eastern entrance to Gray on 152. If you blink or have a big truck ahead of you, you will miss it. Actually, as stated above, I do not trust them yet. As said, only if soeed limit along a stretch of the road is higher than 70, yes, only then would a soeed sign if 70 just before entrance to town make sense.

Seems they hired new sheriff since, in order to fix things.

He is apparently training the cops. The catch is that the problem was not in lack of training, but in character, and no training can change or fix that. It will quite likely teach the bad apples (or orchard) how to hide their misconduct. They wear cameras now, too.

Feel sorry for Gray County population, not just the travellers.

And, if police starts asking irrelevant privacy intruding question, say something for their cameras, instead of being too scared like I was. Why would they need to ask you where you work, except to see if they can hurt you Or why you do recreational outdoors activities. Ignorant and condescending to extreme, and incompetent to match. Just shows bad person, a bully who likes humiliating people when given any power. I dont like saying details of my private life to armed ignorant strangers

So,when stopped, have camera on, maybe live streaming. And clearly state when he/she talks nonsense with "that is incorrect", simply.

10-15 mph lower open road speed limit than neighboring counties,

You would not believe what kind of improper unnecessary questions and comments this one made.

.

NOT the 75 mph, with hardly any signs on 152. One sign on entire stretch west from town to Hutchinson County, at the very exit from Pampa. Then nothing for miles. If you happen to come from side road, you will not have a clue about it then.. Similar east of town. At very entrance to town, just before name panel, all of a sudden, there is a 70 mph limit sign, though there was supposed to be 65 mph (claimed verbally by cop) before that. Then, only about 100 yards later, there is a 55 mph sign. Why would anybody accelerate for 100 yards at very entrance to a town, unless that 65 mph limit is a lie. btw, Gray cops know about it, but tjey pass the blame on TX DPS, and sure don't do anything about it, because it brings money.

If asked too many intrusive private questions, ask about reasons, whether you are being stopped for alleged traffic violation, or investigated, would you need a lawyer, or do you have to be Mirandized.

It amounts to entrapment.

He seems like a good guy to start with, but let's wait and see how long will he last.

Dispatch isn't very friendly if visiting an inmate

You are at mercy of merciless. By what was seen "in action", you can see who is given gun and badge and sent into streets.

As Google review by Madison said. Avoid Pampa and Gray County at all costs.

When you come to their office, with receptionist invisible behind panel, and ask about phone number scribbled on ticket, she tells you to "STOP WHINING". unbelievably unprofessional, and cowardly and without any responsibility. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Bad luck for me that I read about reputation of Pampa police only after this experience. Would have driven the usual 87 line from I-40 instead of driving through this Roy Bean town with idea "oh, ket me see this place a bit more than last time".

Cannot imagine what things they do to people when there is something serious. Actually, I dont have to imagine, just look at online videos.

Awful people. They prey on travelers to line their own pockets. Cops are there only to write tickets and get revenue. They don't protect or serve. They bully and lie
